Taylor Swift just dropped a new version of her romantic hit track, ‘Lover’. And the remix also has a special additional voice; Senorita singer, Shawn Mendes!

The duo swoon and mesmerize together with their melodic, harmonious singing. The original version itself was so heartfelt and meaningful. Well, this new version of the love ballad is even more wholesome.

In case you haven’t heard the OG ‘Lover’ by T. Swift, you gotta hear it now. The song is about love at its purest and deepest. One that makes you think of happy, fairy-tale endings.

Taylor Swift & Shawn Mendes collaborate for ‘Love Remix’

The two artists have definitely churned out an even more romantic version of ‘Love’. In fact, some fresh verses and new harmonies have been added to do so.

Taylor Swift referred to how she wrote the song by saying that everyone would write a love-letter to their lover differently, “I think his (Mendes) take is so beautiful,” she added.

While the remix is not something different from the original, Shawn’s voice turns into a lovely duet. As Taylor Swift once said, “Two is better than one.”

The new verses are a great addition. In fact, Shawn Mendes himself re-wrote his parts.

“(Mendes) has taken ‘Lover’ and he has re-written parts of it, which I think is so important because I love him as a writer,” Swift told fans in a video.

She referred to the new song as a “COLLABORASHAWN.”

The new verses in ‘Lover’

Taylor Swift’s verse about letting “friends crash in the living room” is replaced by new lyrics sung by Mendes:

“We can light a bunch of candles and dance around the kitchen, baby / Pictures of when we were young would hang on the wall / We would sit on the stoop, I’ll sing love songs to you when we’re eighty / See I finally got you now, honey, I won’t let you fall.”

After this, the duo sings the chorus together; a pleasing amalgamation of their vocals.

Then Swift’s  verses “my heart’s been borrowed and yours has been blue,” are again replaced with Mendes new spin,

“Look in my eyes, they will tell you the truth / The girl in my story has always been you / I’d go down with the Titanic, it’s true, for you, lover.”
