Katie Holmes Talks About Her & Tom Cruise’s Daughter Suri Cruise
Katie Holmes knows how to keep the media away from her personal life. She did not talk much about her relationship with Jamie Foxx, nor did she talk about breaking up with him. When it comes to her own house, she has even little to comment especially on her daughter with Tom Cruise, Suri Cruise. However, this time she finally gave us (pigeons) some bread to eat.
Who is Katie Holmes?
First thing’s first. We all know Katie Holmes as Tom Cruise’s ex-wife. She spent like seven years with him before splitting up. Katie became pregnant with Suri Cruise and a few years later filed for a divorce. We also know her as Jamie Foxx’s long-time girlfriend. Therefore, let’s talk about her as who she is
As told by Refinery29, perhaps her first major acting gig was in Dawson’s Creek, a show that ended in 2003. Her role in movies has been, what we like to call it, thoughtful. With roles in Batman Begins, First Daughter, and a cameo in Ocean’s 8, she curated her film career in a sophisticated way.
Katie on Suri Cruise
Katie’s father wanted her to be a doctor, but she had her eyes set to modeling and filmmaking. Here she is now, doing what she believed in. It is a rare occasion when we get to hear from her talk about her personal life, especially her daughter Suri. It was back in 2017 when she said:
My child is the most important person to me, and her upbringing is paramount to my work right now… It’s very important that I’m present and she has a stable, innocent childhood. I feel so blessed to do what I do, but there’s nothing in the world better than watching your child succeed.
She further added by explaining, what can be called, as the dilemma of parenthood. Every day, when a child grows a little, they move further away from you. However, that is a positive thing and it is actually good to see your children becoming independent, but it is heartbreaking as well. You want them to stay with you but they have their own life to figure out and live. All you have to do is give them what they want and then watch them go.
This time, however, while in a candid interview with Elle UK, Holmes said:
“I was happy to become a mum in my twenties… It’s been nice that our ages fit… how do I put this? Every age that my child has been and my age at that time has been a good match. We kind of grew up”
She revealed that the duo had brought in a record player to listen to music together. However, after inquiring a bit more Katie softly said: “That’s kind of personal…” Typical Katie Holmes. We love her, nonetheless.
