Lilly Singh was long ago just a rising YouTube star by the name of iiSuperwomanii. Now, she’s got an NBC late-night show called, A Little Late With Lilly Singh. She’s a UN ambassador and has starred in big Hollywood movies such as Bad Moms and Ice Age: Collision Course! She has truly worked hard to get to where she is now. Every step of the way, she makes sure to represent her homeland, India. That’s probably why Vogue India did an exclusive cover on her.

She Also Shared the Stage With Ranvir Singh and Raja Kumari

For those of you who don’t know, Ranvir Singh is a famous Bollywood actor that has appeared alongside Priyanka Chopra Jonas in several movies. And Raja Kumari is the budding female rap singer of Indian descent.

On the Vogue event, all three shared a stage and dropped some cool raps for the audience. If you were wondering if there was any dancing involved, the answer is definitely yes.

Lilly was receiving the award for Global Indian of the Year from Ranvir Singh at the Vogue India Women of the year event.

The YouTuber also shared a few candid words with the audience:

“I wanted to say, growing up I never described myself as being fabulous, or stylish, or fashionable. I was a tomboy, I was weird. But recently I grew into myself. I learned to talk the way I talk, dress the way I dress, love who I want to love, be who I want to do be. I’ve found my true authentic self and it feels awesome. Recently I also did my first Vogue cover. So, I’ve learned a really good lesson that the most fashionable, stylish thing you can be is authentically yourself. I’m very proud.”

Lilly Singh truly does know about being authentic. Last year, she came out as bisexual. That makes her the first bisexual woman of color to get her own late-night show on NBC.

She always has positive messages to spread, whether it be representing her brown community or empowering girls. So, her Vogue India award and the cover were definitely worthy.
