Should you watch it?
In wake of the infamous controversy involving the photo of severed Donald Trump’s head, comedian Kathy Griffin shares her side of the story. The Tod Miller directed, “A Hell of a Story”, tells the audience the bigger story revolving around her unapologetic way of thinking.
An Insight Into Kathy Griffin: A Hell of a Story
In the story, she comically takes the name of every person who supported and ditched her, while she was blacklisted from the Hollywood scene. She also brings up a fan mail from a guy named, Bobby from Sarasota. The letter was in support of Kathy Griffin, after the famous TV-host, Anderson Cooper, condemned her on the incident. Basically, A Hell of a Story is a middle-finger to Donald Trump administration.
She is wearing the same blue dress from the picture throughout. A “documentary”, is what Kathy Griffin is calling it. Several speaking engagements, tweets and some narrated BTS stills of the infamous Trump head picture, make-up A Hell of a Story.
It’s More Like a Documentary
It sounds and feels like a 75-minute stand-up comedy show. Now, when I say a stand-up show, it’s not meant to be an insult. It’s actually what you’d expect from successful comics like Kathy Griffin. She has more than a dozen stand-up specials under her belt and followers in millions. The fact that she identifies it as a “documentary” is quite enlightening. The story-line is a good attempt to rehabilitate her image.
Kathy Griffin had to suffer a-lot in wake of the incident and this unapologetic viewpoint, presented in a comic-fashion, was delightful. Griffin hopes that this will help people understand the story of what actually happened to her.

But it’s worth watching how political ideology can go to extremities and affect someone’s life on a professional and personal level.
