What Is Kanye West Really Saying?

0 1,045

American rapper Kanye West is well-known. Not only for his career in music, or because of his attention seeking wife – Kim Kardashian. But also because of everything that Kanye West has to say. Makes little sense, but how can you blame someone for that once they’ve entered the Kardashian lot!

Quite some time back, Kanye West disappointed his fans by openly supporting President Trump. Not just that, the rapper even shared a photo of himself wearing the ‘Make America Great Again’ hat on Twitter. If only he had not caused enough damage, Kanye West exclaimed that slavery of African Americans in the US was a choice. During an interview, West shared that,

When you hear about slavery for 400 years. For 400 years? That sounds like a choice.

Well isn’t he clear enough? Twitter was very quick to react at his controversial comments. And make his life a living hell for some time. The hashtag IfSlaveryWasAChoice started trending. And people surely made Kanye West regret his smart mouth.

Obviously, Kanye West is not going to stick true to his words now. Overreacting and going back and forth of what you say is common in the family. So let’s say no huge surprises here.

Recently, Kanye West has declared that people didn’t understand what he actually meant when he said that slavery was a choice. He claims that,

I said the idea of sitting in something for 400 years sounds — sounds — like a choice to me, I never said it’s a choice. I never said slavery itself — like being shackled in chains — was a choice.

And can somebody bother explaining how is this different to his original comment? Or what is he actually trying to come out with? Because one thing’s for sure, the man makes absolutely no sense!

That’s not just all. But the rapper also claimed that he considered suicide. Obviously, being as dramatic as he could be, Kanye West told the publication that,

Oh yeah, I’ve thought about killing myself all the time. It’s always a option and [expletive]. Like Louis C.K. said: I flip through the manual. I weigh all the options.

West says that he was so serious that his wife Kim Kardashian actually had to summon a life coach to help him out. But what does all this have to do with his plainly offensive comments on slavery being a choice? And has he proven that he did not mean them? Well, that surely does not look like it’s going to be possible especially when little meaning can be derived out of anything the man says.
