Nick Jonas’s Groping in Jonas Brothers Concert Is Shameful

How hard is it to respect a celebrity? Let me say this in a better way: How hard is it to respect a human? In an LA concert by Jonas Brothers, a video surfaced of fan groping Nick Jonas while performing. Joe Jonas and Kevin Jonas were also on stage next to the brother when this happened.

Nick Jonas and the Groping “fan”

The disturbing moment of the groping “fan” was caught on camera by someone who posted the video on social media. The Los Angeles (LA) Concert was a part of the Jonas Brothers’ Happiness Begins Tour. They were scheduled to perform at the Hollywood Bowl in South California. On their Oct 21 show, Nick Jonas and his brother, Joe Jonas and Kevin Jonas, were performing “Only Human” when someone from the audience got too close to Nick.

The video recording shows that as Nick Jonas is facing the other way from that “fan”, she (appears to be a female arm) starts to reach out and touch Nick’s left thighs. She tries to move up above as well but a security guard interferes to stop this creep fan. However, she did not stop with the act and continued it. Then, she tried to touch Nick’s right leg and tries to move up. Nick Jonas swat’s hand away and turns around to look at the person before the video ends.

Respect Is the Highest Priority

It’s easy to start idolizing celebrities and musicians and start thinking of them as someone other than us. Idolizing and obsession can easily turn into something harmful. Though, we should choose to live a life of respect. No matter who the celebrity is, we should give them the respect they deserve as human beings.

It is amazing that for now at least, Nick Jonas and the Jonas Brothers have not spoken about the incident. However, all the fans called this act out and shamed the fan committing this act:

Similar grossness occurred around two years ago when Harry Styles was groped by a fan in this same venue. This is why celebrities still need security guards when they are in public. This is also one of the reasons why they hide while in public and alone.

Touching someone without consent suffices as groping. Consent is always of the utmost priority.
