Carrie Fisher – Remembering Princess Leia of Star Wars
When Carrie Fisher passed away on December 27, 2016, Hollywood lost much more than among the biggest stars of Star Wars. It also lost one of the smartest and beautiful performers among its ranks. People may famously know her as Princess Leia, but she was much more than that and her fans remember this still.
Carrie starred alongside Mark Hamill (who played Luke Skywalker) to develop six blockbuster Star Wars features that its fans still marvel today. However, her filmography did not consist of fictional universes starring Darth Vader and Chewbacca alone. She also starred in titles like When Harry Met Sally, Charlie’s Angels, and Austin Powers. Later, she also returned to Star Wars to star in The Force Awakens in 2015.
Carrie Fisher Was a Rebel
Our Princess Leia was known for her humor and sharp wits. It is also said that she was very open about her addiction and mental illness. In fact, National Geographic wrote an article on her and described her to be a difficult person who was not shy to talk about her demons. One of her famous highlights was when she sent a cow tongue to a producer who sexually assaulted her friend. Heather Ross, the victim, also revealed that Carrie put the tongue in a box with a bow on top and personally delivered it. Very bold, Carrie!

Carrie Fisher suffered from a heart attack during a flight to Los Angeles. She spent four days in the hospital before passing away from sleep apnea (and a number of other factors).
