Movie Sequels That Shouldn’t Have Existed
We all love watching movies, and while most of the times the ending is pretty final and we’re sometimes fine with it, moviemakers decide to come up with sequels. We all know some movie sequels, which failed epically as compared to their amazing originals, which immediately makes you think, why does this even exist? Read ahead to see some of the movie sequels that should never have been made!
1 Mean Girls 2
Now, how can we ever forget our original favourite Mean Girls and our beloved Cady? Not to forget, the iconic dialogues, one of them being, “On Wednesdays, we wear pink!” However, the sequel Mean Girls 2 released in 2011 was…not so iconic. Even though the actors did their best, the story was just not the same and did not have the same vibe to it as its prequel.
2 Evan Almighty
The 2007 movie, sequel to Bruce Almighty, was an attempt to recreate the religious story of Noah’s Ark. However, it ends up being a messed up and confusing story of a weird state with an unstable political situation, and a man trying to warn them of a natural disaster. Does that even make sense?
3 Son of The Mask
This sequel of the 1994 film doesn’t make sense, because firstly, we can’t just picture anyone as the mask after Jim Carrey’s tremendous job, secondly, it just wasn’t needed. Sorry, but someone had to say it.
4 The Lion King II: Simba’s Pride
Yes, this movie exists. After the iconic 1994 film, this was, the least to say, disappointing. The plot was not gripping at all, with Scar’s manipulative wife trying to make her son go against Simba’s daughter; it was not touching at all, in contrary to its prequel, which moved us to tears.
5 The Matrix Reloaded
After the groundbreaking first movie, which made everyone question their existence, the sequel was rather dissatisfying. Even though it was obvious that a sequel was going to be made, no one was really impressed by how the movie series continued.
6 Cars 2
Cars 2 focuses on the friendship of Lightning McQueen and Mater as they’re whisked away for an adventure around the world. Pixar is usually the pro when it comes to animated movies, but this 2011 sequel was undoubtedly a mistake. It seemed unnecessary.
7 AVPR: Aliens vs. Predator – Requiem
No one knows why there was an attempt to make this sequel after how badly the prequel performed. The film basically shows many aliens battling with one predator, in a very incomprehensible manner, and really
