The comic book features an image representing the LGBT community. Which shows two boys kissing, while fully clothed. Though Brazil Court backed the Mayor’s decision of banning LGBT Book which was actually an old graphic novel titled Avengers: The Children’s Crusade. But the savior Felipe Neto changed the whole scenario. Neto is a Brazilian YouTuber and he bought 14000 copies of the same comic book. That is not all, he also distributed them free of cost.

Rio’s Mayor & Brazil Court | United Against Homosexuality & LGBT Communities?

Rio’s Mayor is known for his hatred against the LGBT community and homosexuality. He even called homosexuality a “terrible evil” once. The mayor wanted all the copies of Avengers: The Children’s Crusade sealed in plastic bags with a warning that the content is inappropriate for minors. Brazil’s higher-ranking court also backed the Mayor’s stance on LGBT comic books.  After Mayor’s initial announcement, the comic sold out within an hour. It triggered the Mayor’s wrath and next day, he ordered to confiscate or censor the books forcibly. That’s where Felipe Neto jumped in like a superman.

Hoje, o amor venceu! Hoje, o Brasil venceu! Feliz 7 de setembro. Comemore hoje, a luta continua amanhã.

It was beautiful, it was love, it was a fight for a better world! In the end came the cars of Crivella’s censors and twenty armed men ready to collect all the books. There was only one problem, ALL had already been delivered for free. Today, love has won! Today, Brazil has won! Happy September 7th. Celebrate today, the fight goes on tomorrow.
