Britney Spears | Greatest Hits
Britney Spears is one of the American singers and dancers who do not need an introduction. Though the princess of pop is facing some controversies these days. However, she is still a pop icon for the 80s and 90s kids. Her first two albums Baby One More Time and Oops I Did It Again were a huge success. Britney also got the title of Princess of Pop for her efforts in reviving teen pop during the 1990s and early 2000s. Going down the memory lane, let’s take a look at Britney Spears Greatest Hits of all times.
Britney Spears 1st Album | Baby One More Time
The first album Baby One More Time came out in 1999. Britney’s debut song “Hit Me Baby One More Time” sold 500,000 copies in the first day. The song has approx 433 million views and 1.8 million likes till date. If you check the comments, you will find her fans still listening to the track in 2019. (someone like me apparently). They remember the time when Britney Spears was the most famous person ever. Another hit from the album was “You Drive Me Crazy“.
2nd Album | Oops I Did It Again
Britney Spears’ second album Oops I Did It Again was a hit “again”. Though the only song I remember from that album is Oops I Did It Again. The rest of the songs from the album were good but not like the leading one. Her second album was released in 2000. Britney also confirmed her relationship with Justin Timberlake (a member of NSYNC at that time) the same year.
3rd Album | Britney
Britney Spears released her self-titled album Britney in 2001. The album featured some seriously great hits by Britney. Her singles I’m a slave for you, overprotected, I’m not a girl, not yet a woman were among the top hits from the album. It also featured a song co-written and co-produced by Justin Timberlake. The song is titled “What it’s like to be me”. Both of these singers were serious couple goals back then.
4th Album | In The Zone
Britney Spears and Justin Timberlake broke up in 2002. The reasons behind the breakup are still unknown. However, most believe that Britney cheated on him. Britney took a temporary break from the music and started working on her 4th album after few months. She experimented a lot for this album. And luckily, it was praised even by the critics. In The Zone featured Britney Spears’ collaboration with Madonna for a song Me against the music. Toxic and Outrageous were successful experiments of Britney Spears where she proved she is not a young artist anymore. Moreover, her single “Every time” was a heartbreak song. No doubt she wrote it for her ex-Justin Timberlake.
It’s about heartbreak, it’s about your first love, your first true love. That’s something all people can relate to, because you all have that first love that you think you’re going to be with the rest of your life.
It was a response to Justin Timberlake’s Cry Me A River, a song released by him after the split. Justin has confirmed in his memoir that he wrote the song in two hours.
Britney Spears’ Anime Track
Apart from all of her famous tracks, many did not know that Britney Spears release an anime video for her song Break The Ice a decade ago. Like seriously, why we didn’t know about it. I just discovered this track and the video and it is amazing considering the time when it was released.
She also released another animated video of her song “Kill The Lights”. Many believed it was a sequel of her previous anime track. However, the story and concept of this video were picked after a fanfiction contest.
