This Is What Cardi B Has To Say About Lizzo Peaking At The Billboard Hot 100

Cardi B sincerely congratulates Lizzo on her first #1 Billboard song, “Truth Hurts”. The song, in fact, reached number 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart this month. Isn’t’ it surprising to see a top celebrity shouting out the achievement of her rival bigwig?

Lizzo Broke The Conventional Facade

Lizzo, despite being extremely talented, had to endure several hardships to obtain the success she deserved.  However, the Michigan born hip hop singer brought innovations in the conventional music trends as well as she has proved herself as an ace artist within the set traditional system.  Lizzo has broken down the system, reaping merits for her style and her forte.

Lizzo, in fact, told Time back in April,

I have to be that person because I don’t see that person. Because of who I am, my story happens to have a message to it. The space I’m occupying isn’t just for me. It’s for all the big black girls in the future who just want to be seen.

Lizzo’s “Truth Hurts” Tops The Charts

The 2017 -released “Truth Hurts” gained huge praiseworthy responses. The song, thus, became the part of the Netflix rom-com “Someone Great”. This song made Lizzo the first Black woman to stand on the #1 on the Billboard Hot 100 this year.

 During the Coachella’s second weekend, Lizzo spoke to the crowd with teary eyes.

As a big black woman in the industry, I don’t see many women like me on the Billboard charts or at the Grammys or playing Coachella.

Five months later, Lizzo conquered the Billboard Hot 100 chart as her “Truth Hurts” climbed up from No. 3 to the top position.

Cardi B Pats On Lizzo’s Back

Who is not familiar with our sexy yet outspoken Cardi B. Belcalis Marlenis Almánzar known professionally as Cardi B is an American rapper, and popular internet personality, who was also a billboard queen with her single “Bodak Yellow” topping the chart in 2017.

It’s just a two-year story when Cardi B’s “Bodak Yellow” took the top position of the Billboard Hot 100 chart. Before Cardi B, the last female rapper to lead the billboard top 100 chart was Lauryn Hill. Lauryn, however, was the winner 20 years before Cardi B’s achievement.

Surprisingly, this time it took just two simple years for Lizzo to take Cardi B’s berth. The Instagram diva deserves big applause as she gracefully congratulates Lizzo on her success through her Tweet.  She, in fact, sets an example for the celebrities to welcome their successor open-heartedly.



Collaborations Of The Melodious Queens

Moreover, fans watched these two chart-toppers at the eighth annual Made in America festival. This star-studded Labor Day weekend party was held at  Philadelphia’s Benjamin Franklin Parkway. Big names in music like Cardi B, Lizzo, Rosalia, Jorja Smith, and Tierra Whack broke the stage with their matchless performances. In fact, both these billboard queens signed a feature film, The Hustlers. The movie is based on “The Hustlers at Scores,” published in The Cut. Lorene Scafaria (The Meddler) is the movie director.
