Insecurities and self-doubt are things that are too common in teenagers today. We’re always trying to be like someone else and are always doubting our self-worth. As a coping mechanism, we look up to celebrities. We want to be like them and follow what they do. We put them on a pedestal and forget that they’re human too. Jonah Marais new post talks all about how he’s flawed as well and has tried to work on his flaws and conquer them.

In the latest post of the singers’ on his Instagram, Jonah talks about self-love and his own insecurities. He opted with a shirtless picture and though one might drool over the picture, the caption of the post has won our hearts.

In the caption of his new Instagram post, Jonah Marais writes,

i’m not gonna lie, there was a time where my thoughts were in a very bad place when it came to my body. this industry can be harsh. i used to have tons of anxiety and i would constantly look at photos of myself and not like how i looked so i would skip meals, or only eat a little here and there. i’m so happy to say i’ve been in a great mindset and taking care of myself, been in a good work out routine, and been eating a lot lately.

Jonah goes on to say that we should take the initiative and never give up. No matter how dark times get, we shouldn’t lose hope and above all should never fall victim to self-doubt.
