The Boys Season 2 Has Started Filming!
Just a month ago, the gritty dramedy TV series The Boys graced our Amazon Prime screens. It was received with quite a positive response. It soon became a favorite TV show for many (including us) and earned itself a loyal army of fans. This fan army was pretty lucky because ahead of the Season 1 premiere, The Boys was already renewed for a second season.
Recently, the cast member Jack Quaid shared a picture which reveals that the filming of The Boys season 2 has already commenced.
The picture shows a bloodied Jack Quaid who plays Hughie. Alongside Hughie, we have the rest of the gang: Karen Fukuhara’s The Female/ Kimiko, Laz Alonso’s Mother’s Milk, and Tomer Capon’s Frenchie. We also have one of the creators Eric Kripke.
Just as you would expect from The Boys, they are proudly giving us the finger. It’s this level of badass confidence that made its fans fall in love with the show. These group of anti-heroes, The Boys, are a vigilante group that aims to take down the corrupt superheroes of the show.
Each one of them has their own personal reason for their revenge mission. And even though the lot of them can’t always see eye to eye, their mutual hatred for the self-righteous supes helps bring them together. Together, they must take down Homelander (Antony Starr), Black Noir (Nate Mitchell), the Deep (Chace Crawford), A-Train (Jessie T. Usher) and Queen Maeve (Dominique McElligot). They’ve already killed Translucent (Alex Hassell). And something tells me that Starlight or Annie January (Erin Moriarty) will side up with them. At the end of season 1 of The Boys, we saw her fight off A-Train so that Hughie can help Frenchie and Mother’s Milk escape. Plus, the boys also have to expose the evil corporation of Vought that is unethically creating superhero babies and making money off them later on.
Season 2 Bigger and Better
It’s safe to say that we are going to see shit go down in The Boys’ season 2. The first season just laid out the groundwork for the show and even ended it with shocking twists that weren’t even in the comics themselves! Seth Rogen, also the creator of the show, has told everyone that The Boys season 2 is going to be ‘bigger and better’:
They already have more resources for the second season. They’re adding more characters, the scope of the show organically grows as the show continues. We just watched, actually, the first episode of the second season this week. It was a wonderful thing as producers. This is way better than I ever could’ve hoped it would be.
Let’s see if Butcher (Karl Urban) and his boys can take down the supes and Vought or not! A part of me hopes that it takes them just a little while more because we need more seasons of this unique tale of superheroes.
