Licking Ice Cream Can Send You Behind Bars
The ice cream trend recently went viral on Social Media. If you do not know the story behind it, you must be wondering ice creams are yummy and the twitter must be having some sort of an ice cream day. But, in reality, something really unhygienic i.e. licking ice cream started out as Ice Cream Challenge. The videos shared were so unhygienic that many people got furious and the lick-ers were sent behind bars.
The Licking Ice Cream Trend
A month back, a teenager uploaded a video licking a tub of Blue Bell ice cream. And, putting it back into the freezer (Eww). She deleted the video laters but someone already had it saved with him. That downloader re-uploaded the video on her Twitter with the caption: What Kinda Psychopathic Behavior Is This.

The video has 13.3 Million views till now with 29k retweets and almost 70k comments. Many people were not happy when they saw it.
Assuming this isn't just shot for reactions, and she really put the ice cream back for someone else to buy – it should be a felony.

Some more reactions from the people are given below.
Guessing she can be ID’d on social media… this not not funny in the least!! She needs to be charged… especially bc thus likely prompts others to behave ignorantly for “hits”.
great now stores about to start locking up the ice cream too.
Blue Bell Icecream Responded
Since it was Blue Bell icecream, people started wondering whether it has a seal or not. Haagen-Dazs could not stay back on a chance like this.
Our Ice cream cartons do contain a safety seal.
— Häagen-Dazs (@HaagenDazs_US) June 29, 2019
It might have increased the pressure on Blue Bell. Which soon responded to the tweets on their website.
Hello! We want to thank our consumers for alerting us to the recent food tampering incident. We take this issue very seriously and are currently working with the appropriate authorities. For more information, please click here https://t.co/bs2Uaq6BiR
— Blue Bell Ice Cream (@ILoveBlueBell) July 1, 2019
Food safety is a top priority, and we work hard to provide a safe product and maintain the highest level of confidence from our consumers.
During production, our half gallons are flipped upside down and sent to a hardening room where the ice cream freezes to the lid creating a natural seal. The lids are frozen tightly to the carton. Any attempt at opening the product should be noticeable.
Sending People Behind The Bar
Police worked with Blue Bell to identify the store where the incident happened. It was a walmart store in Lufkin. The local police released a statement and updated on the investigation. They also obtained surveillance from the store and snapshots of the girl.
But it was not that easy. Catfish accounts of the original girl started appearing on social media and it got harder for Police to identify the real person. One of the catfish accounts also posted this.
Yeah, I really did that. You can call it a Flu Bell ice cream.
However, police soon tracked the real person. The Blue Bell licker was identified as a juvenile from San Antonio. She is 17 and was dealt as per Juvenile system. Meanwhile, a man posted a similar video to gain some clicks and he was tracked & put behind the bars.
All I wanted to do was be famous and I paid for the ice cream.
Police warned people not to participate in this challenge.
It is illegal. It’s a health risk to others. We will pursue anyone we see do this. You will be charged.
Few other people also started to make and share similar videos. Someone mocking the ice cream challenge and others sharing a public message.
How Licking Ice Cream Led To Weirder Challenges
Some more unhygienic people got creative and started making unbelievable videos. A man spat into a jug of ice tea, a girl used deodorant and put it back. A woman poured out hair product, splashing mouthwash back into the bottle, and what not. Though some of them claimed that they actually purchased the product they use and put back in the shelf. A woman was also arrested when she licked the tongue depressor at a dentist’s clinic and put it back with others.
imagine licking ice cream or vandalizing a store because you need attention and likes on twitter lol

A felony like this can land you in jail for 5 years or a fine of $5000 or both.
