Stranger Things’ Dacre Montgomery aka Billy Gives Hope & Inspiration
Stranger Things season 3 has left many fans baffled over the sacrifice of Billy (Dacre Montgomery) to save Eleven’s (Millie Bobbie Brown) life. Billy was shown to be a bully since season 1 but season 3’s finale showed us a side of him we were not expecting. Just like that, Dacre Montgomery IRL (Read: In Real Life) has also shown us the side of him a few hours back.
Dacre Montgomery’s Audition Tape
A couple of days back, Dacre Montgomery shared an audition tape of a role he did not get. The message behind the post was to inspire people. Montgomery spent 10 years in pursuing a career before he finally booked something.
Here’s a self tape – for something I didn’t get.
Do not be afraid to take risks in your work. I spent 10 years pursuing a career before I booked anything.
You need to have an unwavering belief in your abilities and yourself. Light that fire in your belly and visualize your goals.
But most of all DO NOT BE AFRAID TO FAIL. Go out there and get it!
Montgomery Was Bullied As A Kid
The Heartthrob Montgomery has struggled a lot in his life. Growing up, he faced issues we cannot even imagine by looking at him now. The reason why he is so humble, even after being #1 on IMDB for weeks, is he had a tough childhood. He was not good at studies. He wasn’t popular in the school (unlike Billy in Stranger Things). Even the girls were never interested in him. (they must be repenting right now). But he knew what he wanted to be so he focused on his dreams for years and finally got what he dreamed of.

When I was a kid, I was lost. I had a really tough time in school. I was a big kid who loved drama. I never got passing grades, I wasn’t popular or a gifted sports player. Girls were never interested in me. I suffered from anxiety from a young age. I was distracted and I wasn’t focused. But I had a dream, I was lucky – I knew what I wanted to do. And every night I went home and I focused on THAT. I visualised a future where my dreams became a reality. When I was 15 I failed my high school drama exams. When I was 16 I was told I needed to loose weight. When I was 17 I was told I should go to drama school and train. When I was 18 I was fired from my job. When I was in drama school I was told to leave. When I had a DREAM – I was told it wasn’t achievable. Well, you know what…. I lost weight, I went to drama school and I never stopped wanting it, I never stopped being curious. I never let the failures get me down. Because I believed in myself and I never let anyone tell me otherwise. You can do anything you set your mind to. So, go out there and get it!
The only upcoming project announced is The Broken Heart Gallery. It is a romantic comedy featuring Dacre Montgomery, Utkarsh Ambudkar and Geraldine Viswanathan. Shooting of the project has not started yet. Which means, we will have to wait till we see Dacre Montgomery on our screens again.
