Recently, everyone is curious about Area 51. The internet phenomena is trending on all social media platforms for a while now. In fact, popular YouTuber Keemstar AKA Drama Alert even ended up creating a video game about it.
For those who don’t know Area 51 is a secret and classified US Air force base. Many people believe that the US government is hiding aliens there. Though, no one really knows for sure what is in Area 51. Someone from California created this Facebook group where every member would go and raid Area 51. The much awaited day will come on September 20. Yes, it’s clearly a joke but it has led to some truly hilarious memes around the internet.

Some of them even led to Jeffree Star and Shane Dawson being converted into Area 51 memes.

Why Shane Dawson and Jeffree Star Becoming into Area 51 Memes
It’s because Shane Dawson has always been fascinated by paranormal activity. He has even mentioned Area 51 in several of his conspiracy videos. Meanwhile, Jeffree Star released a makeup palette literally named Alien and has been called an alien because of his unique look and style.

These Area 51 memes are truly hilarious. It is a bit unnerving to think there might actually be aliens hiding there but it’s pretty much an internet trend that will die out.
US Military Base Doesn’t Like the Joke
Plus, the US military base itself did not take this joke lightly. They had a bit of a stern response. A spokesperson for the US Air Force had this to say regarding the event:
[Area 51] is an open training range for the U.S. Air Force, and we would discourage anyone from trying to come into the area where we train American armed forces. The U.S. Air Force always stands ready to protect America and its assets.
What a buzzkill, right?
