For anyone who has been following the journey of the fictional Rose family ever since Schitt’s Creek premiered in 2015, this is great news! The CBC show is getting the recognition it deserves. The nominations for the 2019 Emmys were announced today.
The creator of the show Dan Levy, who plays David Rose in the series, shared the joyous news with his fans:
Just like Dan Levy, we are pretty proud of everyone involved in the show!
What Are The Emmy Nominations for Schitt’s Creek
The hit sitcom has garnered four nominations in different categories. It is nominated for ‘Outstanding Comedy Series’. The other candidates are Barry, Fleabag, Russian Doll, The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, The Good Place, and Veep.
The other creator of the show, Dan Levy’s father Eugene Levy, also plays the patriarch of the family Johnny Rose. And his brilliant portrayal is being highlighted by the Emmys! Eugene Levy has a nomination for ‘Lead Actor in a Comedy Series’.
He’s not alone! Catherine O’Hara (Moira Rose) has also grabbed an Emmy nomination for ‘Lead Actress in a Comedy Series’. Moira would certainly be pleased in hearing this news.
They’re also nominated for ‘Outstanding Contemporary Costumes’. And they better after that iconic ‘Life is a Cabaret’ finale episode in Schitt’s Creek season 5.
Annie Murphy, who plays Alexis Rose, did not get an Emmy nomination, she did win another award. The breakthrough performance at the Gracie Awards!
This is a great way to bid farewell to the show after it ends with its sixth season.
Schitt’s Creek Six Season Is Last
It was announced by Eugene Levy and Dan Levy that Schitt’s Creek season 6 was going to be its final one. However, they were grateful for the fans and everyone in the cast and crew who helped create their vision to reality.
Hopefully, these Emmy nominations may get Elton John to finally star in Schitt’s Creek season 6, since he shared he was seen hanging out with the cast.
