Netflix Mindhunter To Return for Season 2

The popular Netflix crime series Mindhunter already has a premiere date for season 2. Nearly two years after its launch, the drama will return for a second season in August this year. Produced by David Finch, and starring Jonathan Groff and Holt McCallany, Mindhunter proved to be an absolute favorite. In fact, it got picked up for another season only a month after its debut. But this time the show will pick up a couple of years later than where season 1 left it off.

What Will Netflix’s Mindhunter Season 2 Be about?

Mindhunter follows the story of two FBI agents from the Behavioral Science Unit. It features Holden Ford played by Jonathan Groff and Bill Tench played by Holt McCallany as they travel across the country attempting to understand the mindset of psychopaths and serial killers as they interview them.

The second season of the crime series is said to pick up between 1979 and 1981. Moreover, it will investigate the Atlanta child murders in which 28 people were murdered over a short period of time.

The series is executive produced by David Fincher alongside Charlize Theron, Joshua Donen and Cean Chaffin. Created by Joe Penhall, Netflix’s Mindhunter will return on 16th August for its season 2. The exciting news was revealed by Fincher in a podcast interview on Friday. He shared that,

Yes, there is now [a date]. I’m not sure, I guess I’m allowed to say it, but, yeah, it’s gonna be the 16th.

The news was later confirmed by a Netflix representative himself. The first season of Mindhunter premiere in October 2017. The next month it was picked up for a second season following great reviews from both fans and critics.
