Shane Dawson & PewDiePie On New York Times’ Bestseller
It seems like our favorite YouTube influencers are now bringing their online success to the printed page. This week YouTube stars The Try Guys made it to the New York Times’ bestseller list after releasing their first book, The Hidden Power of F*cking Up. But they are not the only ones enjoying that kind of fame. Others like Shane Dawson and PewDiePie also hit the top of the list with their published works.
Which YouTube Stars Made it to The New York Times’ Bestseller List?
Shane Dawson published his I Hate Myselfie: Collection of Essays in 2015. The book was a hilarious and honest take on how messy life can get when growing up, and how rewarding it feels when you pretty much clean up all of it.
PewDiePie- the internet’s greatest sensation published his book titled This Book Loves You in 2015. The book which sold 130,000 copies was described as,
From the mind of PewDiePie, the #1 YouTuber in the world with 40 million fans and more than 10 billion views, comes This Book Loves You, a collection of beautifully illustrated inspirational thoughts and sayings. Apart from Shane Dawson, YouTubers like Connor Franta, Colleen Ballinger, Lilly Singh, Zoe Sugg, Joey Graceffa, also made it to the list. However, not everyone was as lucky as Dawson and PewDiePie. Zoe Sugg admitted to ghostwriters for her novel, Girl Online, which was Britain’s fastest-selling book in 2014. Soon afterwards, the YouTuber faced quite of a backlash on social media.
