Lily Collins Wants Strong Story Lines For Women

0 702

The popular actress Lily Collins seems to have been really involved in her acting projects. In fact, this year has been pretty busy. After all, she has been working on Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil and Vile along with Emily in Paris and also, Les Miserables. But despite whatever role she may land, Collins has one rule. Which is that women should have strong story lines.

The actress simply has her own stance on taking up characters when offered roles in movies and television shows. While she may not object to much, Lily just would never play the token female. She wants women on screen to have depth, you know like they do in real life.

Lily Collins Accepts Roles Based on Offered Female Story lines

While at the Vulture Emmy Studio in L.A, Lily shared that she had no interest in performing roles where the female was just there. Whether it was for being an eye candy or fulfilling just the female perspective, the actress had little excitement for any such characters. Being a vocal feminist, Lily claims that there should be strong female story lines because the world needs more than just women being there for the sake of it. She added that,

It’s not appealing to me to play someone who is just there for — whether it’s eye candy or the female perspective, you need more than that.

The actress further said that story lines should not be based on gender. What probably matters more than the gender is the character and their drive, regardless of whether it is a male or a female.

Lily Collins has made it pretty clear that she searches for a strong female point in her projects. And it seems like her previous projects including Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil and Vile, To the Bone, Mirror Mirror and Love, Rosie are all based on what she searches for in movies and television shows.
