Sophie Turner May Star as Boy George in New Biopic!

Now that Bohemian Rhapsody was such a big hit, we don’t expect Hollywood to stop making biopics. Since singer Boy George’s biopic is underway, and many actors are preparing their audition tapes. It seems like the Game of Thrones actress Sophie Turner has already caught his attention. When the Dark Phoenix actress was presented as a candidate, the singer was absolutely thrilled. And it seems like the actress is totally down for it!

Sophie Turner Flattered To Play Boy George In New Biopic

In a recent interview, the singer himself revealed that he had his eye on Turner for the role. He claimed that in many interesting suggestions, the Dark Phoenix actress really stuck out.  But he admitted that a woman playing him would upset many people. However, he believes that when he was 17 years old, that’s what he wanted to be. Hence, Turner would be a perfect fit. He shared that,

There’s been some really interesting suggestions. One of the most interesting suggestions was Sophie Turner. [People will say] ‘she can’t play you she’s a woman,’ you know. But when I was 17, I would have loved to have been her,

Naturally, Sophie Turner playing Boy George would be delightful. Moreover, it’s even more appropriate given the singer’s androgynous style.

What Does Sophie Turner Think About It?

Turner is expressing delight and interest in playing Boy George. Of course, she would since Boy George was truly a music icon in the ’80s. You can already sense her excitement for it!

Sacha Gervasi is directing and writing the movie. In fact, it would be a classic biopic tracing the singer’s upbringing to his breakout success in 1980’s.
