Kpop Group Gets Nominated for Teen Choice Award

The nine member kpop group under SM Entertainment gets nominated for Choice International Artist at the Teen Choice Awards. This is not the first time the group has been nominated in an American award show. The group was previously nominated for Top Social Artist at Billboard Awards. However, the award went to another kpop group BTS. Under the same category, the other kpop groups BTS, NCT 127 and Blackpink are also nominated. The British girl group Little Mix is also nominated under the same category. NCT 127 and EXO are label mates.

The hashtag TeenChoice started trending worldwide within a matter of a few minutes since the nominations were announced. The hashtag is trending at number 3 worldwide at the moment. Under the tag, you’ll find kpop fans supporting their favorite kpop group. But in the lead right now is the fandom Exo-L. Exo-L’s are the fans of the group EXO and their voting powers are no match for others. Previously in Soompi awards, the fans garnered the most tweets ever tweeted in a day for EXO’s win. The number of tweets went on to make a new Guinness World Record.

The Choice International Award has previously been won by kpop group Super Junior in 2015 and BTS won the award two times in a row in 2017 and 2018.
