Now that he and his wife Nicki Reed have a baby daughter together, he seems to be enjoying his new role as a dad. In his latest post, he not just reflected on how the journey has been up till here, but also sent out a motivational message to all fathers out here.

While uploading pictures with his baby girl and dog, the actor and director wished everyone a happy Father’s Day. He claimed that being a father was the greatest gift life had ever given him. In fact, he believes it to be the best thing that he has ever done. Not only is Ian Somerhalder thankful to be on this journey, but is also thankful to his wife Nicki Reed for his baby girl. Apparently, their baby daughter already loves her family, music, nature and animals. And the actor simply can not wait for her to grow up so that they explore life together.
After reflecting on his own journey as a parent, Ian Somerhalder also has a message for all other dads this Father’s Day. He hoped that every father feels blessed to be able to lay down a track for their child’s future. Somerhalder believes that all parents are rockstars. But he credited the mothers with being something more than that and the backbones of all societies. As for all parents, he asked them to do their best job with parenting because that’s what will help construct a better world. Somerhalder said that each parent should make sure they add in their maximum love and efforts in nurturing their children. And if that was not already the case, its never too late for them to make this a priority.
