The world is no stranger to Jameela Jamil’s self-care tips. In fact, Jamil is well known for being a body positivity activist apart from being a very good actress. And to her set of instructions on advising women on diet, she has added one more addition: don’t take it from celebrities.

She tweeted her advice on her Instagram

Just last week, The Good Place actress posted a screenshot of her tweet on her Instagram. The post said that the only advice you should be taking from celebrities is don’t take it from them. She went on further to tell her followers that they don’t really care about the people they give this advice to, or their liver or their mental health

The only advice you should take from celebrities is: “DON’T TAKE DIET ADVICE FROM CELEBRITIES”. They don’t give a flying f*ck about you, or your kidneys, or your liver or your mental health. Unfollow, delete, repeat.

With that said, the writer has set her guidelines straight for anyone who wishes to follow some health advice coming from Jamil. But the dichotomy of following her two cents on diet advice is that she herself happens to be a celebrity.

Does that make her advice any better?

There’s more than just the celeb background to the advice Jameela Jamil gives. As a child she suffered from an eating disorder, anorexia nervosa, which caused her to take to take really small meals for some years in her teenage years. The disorder appeared due to strong societal pressure to appear thin, especially from the media. She later suffered an accident causing severe damage to her spine and other critical injuries. Her harsh past helped her change her relationship with her body.

That’s not all. Jameela Jamil is also involved with an online social media campaign called I Weigh that helps women to look past just physical appearances. “a movement… for us to feel valuable and see how amazing we are, and look past the flesh on our bones”. She has also been a strong critic of body shakes that urge people into spending to have more appeal only to suffer from the side effects that were never told about.

It’s safe to say that Jameela is more than just about flaunting size zero bodies

Looks like Jameela Jamil has is more than just a celebrity supporting the conventional narrative of beauty. She has been coming strong thus far which definitely required a lot of self-love.
