Lez Feldman’s new black comedy on Netflix works, unevenly but grippingly. Blending the comedic prowess of Emmy-nominee Christina Applegate together with the fantastic stage-work of Linda Cardellini, the show quickly develops a finely calibrated narrative that is both delightful and empowering. The show’s lead cast is; however, just the icing on the cake. In fact, Dead to Me is bloating with a sizeable rota of talented guest stars, who frequently fuel the flavorful farce with moments of brief but memorable joy. The even better news is, this roll of talented people also features the One Day At A Time showrunner, Gloria Calderon Kellett, who appears in episode 5 of the series.
Gloria Calderon Kellet Joins College Roomie Linda Cardellini In Netflix’s Dead To Me
Kellet, One of the 50 biggest Agents Of Change in Hollywood, selected her ‘college roomie’, Linda Cardellini’s show to stage her acting comeback. Gloria is better known for her scripted and directional ventures, but her commendable acting chops in shows like ‘Jane The Virgin’ and’ Trophy Wife‘ have also added a few exclusive feathers to her versatile cap. Gloria had also made a few appearances on her crowd-pulling Netflix comedy, ‘One Day At A Time’, layering the beautiful sitcom with just some extra delight.
Minutes before Dead to Me’s premiere yesterday, Gloria Calderon Kellett announced that she would appear on the show through her Instagram story. Moreover, she also expressed her excitement about sharing the screen with her old pal, Linda Cardellini. Gloria stars in the fifth episode of the dark Netflix comedy,” I’ve Gotta Get Away”, where she joins Cardellini’s Judy in her grief support group session. The episode features Gloria as a mom, who has undergone patchy times to embrace motherhood. In her cameo appearance on the show, Gloria emphasizes the fruit of hope. Christina Applegate
Recently, Gloria shared a picture from the show’s premiere on her Instagram handle. There she professed love for her ex-roommate Linda Cardellini, and also applauded her for her magnificent performance on the show. She also reminded her fans to watch her in the fifth episode of Dead to Me.
Gloria Calderon Kellett Isn’t Done Trying To Save One Day At A Time
Apart from her recent acting venture, there are a few other things that have been keeping the ace writer/ producer busy. Recently, Netflix barbarically axed Gloria’s iconic Cuban take on Norman Lear’s cult 70’s comedy One Day At A Time. Since then, Gloria has been busy rigorously campaigning for the show’s revival. In her attempts to rescue her show, the One Day At A Time showrunner has also joined hands with B99 actress Melissa Fumero and the musical magician Lin-Manuel Miranda. The struggle is undoubtedly taxing, but Gloria Calderon Kellett isn’t ready to give up. Christina Applegate
