The popular actress Bella Ramsey who plays Lyanna Mormont in Game of Thrones did not survive the brutal battle of Winterfell. But even then, her story came to an iconic end with heroism at its peak. Did you ever foresee that the smallest fighter in Winterfell would bring down Night King’s biggest soldier? Mormont remains one of the many characters that died in the struggle that saved Westeros from an endless night.

Looks like we saw the young Lady of Bear Island much longer than initially planned. Lyanna was supposed to have one scene in season 6 only when she was left in charge of her family’s stronghold after the death of her mother and smartly grilled a taken-aback Jon Snow and Sansa Stark. But her show stealing performance kept producers and show runners finding opportunities to keep her on screen.

After shooting her funeral scene, Ramsey gave out an interview talking about the battle of Winterfell and the iconic manner in which she died.

Lyanna Mormont Talks About Death in the Battle of Winterfell

Looks like Lyanna Mormont has revealed what battles on Game of Thrones really are. She admitted that the only real bit of fighting is stabbing. But it looks all very real because of the atmosphere on the sets. Everything looked good and intense with the wind and fake snow. In fact, it made it even easier to act around. As for her death in Winterfell, all Lyanna wanted was to either land up on the Iron Throne or die. So, well, she got it because as desired, her death was pretty heroic.

However, looks like Bella Ramsey had imagined other plans for her character and its story. She claimed that,

Her story maybe had the potential to grow but she was going to go at some point because everyone does and this way she went was the best way she could have.

Lyanna added that previously, she had the experience of playing dead. But doing dead acting is actually hard because naturally, you have the tendency to move. So, concentrating on being really still is the actual move. Now that our favorite soldier is dead, let’s remember the Lady of Bear Island for her stunning act of heroism.

Lady Lyanna Mormont is the young Lady of Bear Island and the head of House Mormont of Bear Island. After House Bolton is defeated at the Battle of the Bastards, she is the first to declare Jon Snow the King in the North during a gathering of the Northern lords at Winterfell.
