Natasha Lyonne and Uzo Aduba recently enjoyed their  Nigeria trip as Uzo Aduba is performing in a Nigerian storytelling episode of National Geographic Documentary, ‘ACTIVATE’.

In her Instagram post from Lagos, Nigeria, Natasha shared some wonderful images while spending time in the  African country.

The Russian Doll actress, however, thanked her fellow actress Uzo Aduba for making the trip most amazing yet unforgettable. The two actresses, in fact, from ‘Orange is the new Black’ spent quality time in Nigeria to take part in the ACTIVATE Documentary series.


Global Citizen, Procter and Gamble and the National Geographic channel mutually developed a six-episode documentary series with the title ACTIVATE. ACTIVATE is, basically, a storytelling documentary series highlighting the issues related to extreme poverty, inequality and sustainability around the world.

RadicalMedia co-produced this Six-Part Documentary. The series will premiere in Fall 2019, on National Geographic channel in 172 countries and in 43 languages.  The Feature Artists who passionately work for the series include  Uzo Aduba, Hugh Jackman, Rachel Brosnahan, Gayle King, Usher and Pharrell Williams. These activists will, in fact, inform the public about poverty problems, through real stories. Moreover, they will highlight effective solutions that can eradicate extreme poverty from the world.

Natasha Lyonne, in fact, joined Uzo Aduba to support her co-actress in the good cause. Uzo Aduba herself is a Nigerian born actress. She is, in fact, keenly supporting the ACTIVATE campaign as she wants her country to be rich, hygienic and clean. The photos right from Lagos also features other popular names including Chigul,  Lisa Nicole Wilkerson and Angela Wildflower.

Orange Is the New Black

Both Natasha Lyonne and Uzo Aduba worked together in Orange Is the New Black (OITNB). An American comedy-drama web television (7 seasons) series by Jenji Kohan. This Netflix series is in fact based on Piper Kerman’s memoir, Orange Is the New Black: My Year in a Women’s Prison (2010), about her experiences at FCI Danbury, a minimum-security federal prison.

Uzo Aduba played the character of Suzanne “Crazy Eyes” Warren.  Warren is intelligent, but lacking in social skills, and prone to spiral into emotional outbursts when agitated, as well as hallucinations and delusions, due to mental illness.

On the other hand, Natasha Lyonne played Nicky Nichole, a former heroin addict raised by a wealthy yet careless mother. She later stole a taxi with her friends. The character, in fact, did the stealing to buy drugs for the weekend so that she can get to her dealer in time to get drugs for the weekend.
