Feat after feat, Lilly Singh aka. Superwoman is certainly on a roll. Only a few days ago, Lilly became the only woman and LGBTQ member to land herself a late night talk show. And today, a wish has poured in her way from the Canadian Prime Minister, Justin Trudeau himself. Singh announced her late-night talk show deal with NBC on Thursday during her appearance on Jimmy Fallon’s The Tonight Show. Almost immediately, she received an enormous downpour of congratulatory tweets, but the biggest one has probably arrived only today.
Lilly Singh will lead her show — “A Little Late With Lilly Singh” — from September. It will air in Carson Daly’s slot on weeknights at 1:35 a.m. EST. While passing the baton to Singh, Daly told Singh that she had ‘earned this moment’.
Superwoman Breaks The Late Night TV Stereotypes
Apart from Daly, several other Late Night TV hosts have also endorsed the membership of Lilly Singh (Superwoman) in the late night boys club. Late Night host Seth Meyers welcomed her to the NBC Late Night family. NBC tweeted: “All hail our new Late Night comedy queen.”

Today, the Canadian Prime Minister, Justin Trudeau, too congratulated Singh on her success. He posted two tweets, one in French and the other in English, describing how Singh had made Canada proud. Justin Trudeau also thanked Lilly for ‘making him laugh along the way’.

The adorable banter between the Canadian YouTube star and Justin Trudeau left Singh’s fans in sheer awe.
A fan wrote:
“The prime minister of Canada casually congratulating Lilly while she shamelessly asks him to bring her timbits is everything and more. I adore.”
Other fans too exclaimed their delight at Lilly Singh for bringing a fresh change in the Late Night entertainment atmosphere.
The YouTube star, who has more than 14 million subscribers, was hailed in the LGBTQ community. Singh’s visibility as a bisexual woman of color has; in fact, played a major part in helping Lilly Singh strike the deal with NBC.
According to GLAAD Chief Communications Officer Rich Ferraro,
“Lilly is a beacon of hope and a role model to countless young LGBTQ people, and her new role on late-night will serve to inspire countless more,”
