People Say Priyanka Chopra Fails as UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador
T he Hollywood-Bollywood actress Priyanka Chopra has sparked hatred everywhere on social media. There are tensions suddenly going on between two major nations of the sub-continent: India and Pakistan. A lot of the public is urging everyone to not support war but rather peace. Some people are pointing out how Priyanka supporting her own nation’s efforts of defense isn’t a diplomatic choice given that she is a UNICEF Goodwill ambassador.
Priyanka Chopra Makes War Mongering Tweet as Indo-Pak War Escalates
The two nuclear armed powers of Asia- India and Pakistan have been tied up in conflict over Kashmir over a long time now. But things seem to be worsening between the two nations as India sent its fighter jets into Pakistan’s airspace. The country retaliated by shooting down Indian fighter jets over the disputed border region. Since Pakistan captured an Indian wing commander and interrogated him, there was a significant escalation in the crisis between the two powers. However, Pakistan has promised the safe return of the Indian commander, hoping for peace negotiations.
Amidst all this, while both armies were busy protecting their own borders, celebrities on either sides as well as other parts of the world have been reacting to the situation. While many campaigned for peace with the #SayNoToWar hashtag, some were supporting their respective countries. Many Indian celebrities including the newly wed Priyanka Chopra propagated for war praising the Indian forces for stepping into the enemy country’s border.

Is Priyanka Chopra Not Fulfilling her Role as a UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador?
Naturally, praising your country men for fighting the enemy and shielding the nation is something anybody would do. But this seems as if she is unintentionally encouraging war between the two nations. A UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador should always be opting for peace and take a diplomatic stand.
People are seeing Priyanka Chopra supporting her own army’s efforts as war mongering. People have slammed Priyanka for failing in her UNICEF duties. Twitter was taken over as people demanded UN to take away this right from the actress as she was no longer eligible to talk about human rights at any platform.
Can the @UN please take back their ambassadorship from Priyanka Chopra ?
Celebs who fuel wars have no reason to be talking about human rights at any forum.
Someone who ‘apparently’ works for children’s rights, needs to be schooled about the impact of war on children?#SayNoToWar

Are or were you really Unicef goodwill ambassador? I really don’t know how an artist can praise military actions and especially while being an ambassador of UN. I don’t think this world could ever see peace when peacemakers love wars. #NoWar #PakistanIndia

WHAT?!!! But aren’t you supposed to be a Good Will ambassador for @UNICEF? Screen shot this everyone and next time she speaks up for peace and goodwill. Let’s remind her of this hypocrisy. https://t.co/Jew88bMtYv

Priyanka Chopra what a magnificent disappointment. Hope more blueticked accounts remind her what being a Goodwill ambassador actually means. Hypocrite.
