Even amid an atmosphere of women empowerment, domestic violence persists as a sad reality. Around the globe, women are being violated physically, verbally, and psychologically. A general response is that we tell women to ‘fight for themselves’. However, that obviously is of limited avail until we describe how. There are a lot of issues to address, and there is a strong need of a collaborative effort for their resolution. Westworld actress, Evan Rachel Wood has; for this reason, joined forces with V-Day for its 1 Billion Rising Campaign. Evan Rachel Wood has also called upon her followers to watch a Netflix documentary, City Of Joy, to understand better the plight of underrepresented women. Westworld Season 3
What Is V-Day?
V-Day is a global activist movement to end violence against women and girls. It is a catalyst that promotes creative events to increase awareness. Moreover, the campaign also helps raise money, and revitalize the spirit of existing anti-violence organizations. V-Day generates broader attention for the fight to stop violence against women and girls. It specifically addresses gender crimes including rape, battery, incest, female genital mutilation (FGM), and sex slavery. To commemorate its 15th anniversary, V-Day launched its ambitious I Billion Rising campaign back in 2012. The movement has now gained alarming momentum, as several celebrities like Evan Rachel Wood have now joined hands with the campaign. Westworld Season 3
