Evan Rachel Wood Joins V-Day’s 1 Billion Rising Campaign Against Domestic Violence

Even amid an atmosphere of women empowerment, domestic violence persists as a sad reality. Around the globe, women are being violated physically, verbally, and psychologically. A general response is that we tell women to ‘fight for themselves’. However, that obviously is of limited avail until we describe how. There are a lot of issues to address, and there is a strong need of a collaborative effort for their resolution. Westworld actress, Evan Rachel Wood has; for this reason, joined forces with V-Day for its 1 Billion Rising Campaign. Evan Rachel Wood has also called upon her followers to watch a Netflix documentary, City Of Joy, to understand better the plight of underrepresented women. Westworld Season 3

What Is V-Day?

V-Day is a global activist movement to end violence against women and girls. It is a catalyst that promotes creative events to increase awareness. Moreover, the campaign also helps raise money, and revitalize the spirit of existing anti-violence organizations. V-Day generates broader attention for the fight to stop violence against women and girls. It specifically addresses gender crimes including rape, battery, incest, female genital mutilation (FGM), and sex slavery. To commemorate its 15th anniversary, V-Day launched its ambitious I Billion Rising campaign back in 2012. The movement has now gained alarming momentum, as several celebrities like Evan Rachel Wood have now joined hands with the campaign. Westworld Season 3

Evan Rachel Wood Campaigns For V-Day’s 1 Billion Rising

The production for the upcoming Aaron Paul starrer Westworld Season 3 is yet to to go on floors. Evan Rachel Wood; meanwhile, is making use of her spare time for the benefit of women across the globe. She has partnered with V-Day for their crusade against unjust treatment of women. She has even announced the same on her social media accounts.

How Netflix’s City Of Joy Inspired Evan Rachel Wood

Wood also mentions that the pushing for behind her social activism was a Netflix documentary, ‘City Of Joy’. The 2018 Netflix original followed the convalescing period of sexually brutalized women  at a help center ‘City Of Joy’. In fact, Wood has suggested the watch through her Instagram account too.

The V-Day I Billion Rising Campaign will assemble at the Middle Collegiate Church next week. and Evan Rachel Wood will also be present there. To her, it is a great opportunity to meet extraordinary women from around the world and to seek solutions for domestic abuse. At the meeting, the participants will also discuss effective ways to rehabilitate domestic violence survivors once they escape the clutches of their partner’s toxic masculinity. Westworld Season
