Roseanne Barr Calls Openly Supporting Trump A ‘Big Mistake’
The biggest TV highlight for 2018 came when ABC abruptly pulled the plug of its racist mascot, the Roseanne reboot last May. Orchestrated by a racist tweet that the show’s lead star Roseanne Barr flung at White House’s Valerie Jarrett, the cancellation was a historical display of the changing social attitudes of informed Americans. Ultimately, the show was made to return sans Barr as a spin-off series, The Conners. But clearly, the actions taken against Barr remained unrevoked.
With the firing of Roseanne Barr, came a lot of controversy. The star; however, remained careful as to not let the controversy damage her Republican campaign. Barr has always maintained a strong admiration for Trump. And once again, as the campaigning drives for the 2020 elections inch closer, the star is all set for a diplomatic war.
Roseanne Barr Talks About Her ‘Fatal Mistake’
On 14th February, when the world was busy celebrating love, political differences and racial hate kept Barr preoccupied. She uploaded a video on her official YouTube channel revisiting the infamous cancellation of her show.
In the video she introduces herself as her most popular character. Roseanne Conner. And soon she goes on to lay her diplomatic agenda against Democrats. She mentions that she spoke the truth, she sided with Donald Trump, and these eventually became the causes for her dismissal from the show. She goes on to tell her fans that she appreciates the love they ‘used to’ give her, and the guilt trip continues with Barr expressing that she is regretful for not supporting Hillary Clinton on TV.
Roseanne Barr Believes That Being A Democrat Would Have Saved Her Job
To Barr, it were apparently her partisan notions, and not her terribly racist tweet that caused her to lose her job. She insists that if she had been a Democrat, any f***** up tweet would not have been overlooked, corrected and forgiven.
Roseanne Barr Continues To Extend Support For Trump
During the video. Roseanne Barr called Donald Trump a ‘thinker’, insisting that ‘he thinks like a mom’. She talked about how Trump looks at the ‘big picture’, and does not dwell in the specifics. To end her speech, Roseanne Barr went on to credit Donald Trump for the dismantling the system of slavery (something that has happened centuries ago), and for stopping human and organ trafficking. Which is again, clearly not the scenario.
Roseanne somehow finds a way to remain under the spotlight. Sometimes is due to rumors circulating around her return to The Conners, or sometimes due to the air of the spin-off series being cancelled. ABC has evidently moved on from Barr, and they are now looking forward to exploring new pastures with The Conners Season 2.
