The original Netflix comedy Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt from the creators Tina Fey and Robert Carlock is wrapping up for now. The last episode for the series debuted on the streaming service on January 25th. But the great news is that this might not be the last of Ellie Kemper (the main character) that we might be seeing. The co-creators have been discussing the possibility of the show transforming into a movie for Netflix. Since the entire cast and crew has been working together for almost 12 years, any chance of reuniting is totally welcomed by them. And as per the creators, there is enough material in the comedy series to be set as a movie. So, the choice pretty much rests with Netflix. And if we’re lucky, Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt might return.

The comedy series revolves around Ellie Kemper who moves to New York after she is rescued from a doomsday cult. The cast includes Tituss Burgess, Carol Kane, Jane Krakowski, Jon Hamm, Fred Armisen, and Mike Carlsen.
In an interview, Tina Fey talks about the prospect of developing the series more if Netflix shows an interest in reviving it as a movie. Apparently, the cast and the crew have been working together on projects for 12 years now. So, they would love to come back together for this project. Fey also believes that there is so much content that making a movie would not be difficult. Plus, the characters are fertile enough for a revisit. So, they are all hoping that it will work out.
