Bradley Cooper and Lady Gaga’s A Star is Born Shut out of SAG Awards
Together, Bradley Cooper and Lady Gaga are a very powerful duo. And they did bring some major star power to the SAG Awards. But from the looks of it, their ground-breaking movie A Star is Born was majorly snubbed at the ceremony and did not receive any statuettes. Although both of them had individual nominations for Outstanding Performance by a cast in a motion picture, neither of them won. However, this snub comes right after Gaga won the best song award for the same movie. Even though it didn’t win this one, or didn’t win a lot at the Golden Globe Awards, it’s still not over for the movie. It received Grammy awards nominations and there are still the host-less 2019 Oscars to win!
Bradley Cooper and Lady Gaga Get Snubbed at SAG Awards for ‘A Star is Born’
The SAG Awards might not have been great for Bradley Cooper or Lady Gaga. Well, especially not for their film A Star is Born. The cast was nominated for best outstanding performance by a cast in a motion picture. But they lost the award to Marvel’s Black Panther. Cooper was nominated for outstanding performance by a male actor in a leading role. Whereas, Gaga was nominated for outstanding performance by a female actor.
Despite not securing any wins, the two actors were visibly in high spirits throughout the ceremony. While Gaga made an appearance with her fiance Christian Carino, Cooper was with his mother Gloria Campano. And that’s maybe because his girlfriend Irina Shayk has been travelling out of country on business.
Although A Star is Born was shut out at the SAG Awards, the movie has secured a number of victories in the past few weeks. At the 2019 Critics Choice Awards, Lady Gaga won the best song category for her soundtrack Shallow in the film. The hit single also won the best original song at the 2019 Golden Globes. But at that ceremony, the movie won just one award out of five nominations.
However, it’s still not over for the film and Bradley Cooper and Lady Gaga must not lose hope. It has gotten nominations for Best Picture, Best Adapted Screenplay, Best Cinematography and Best Sound Mixing in the Oscars 2019. This film market Cooper’s directorial debut, and it is up for 7 Academy Awards so that has to stand for something! Let’s hope for the best.
