Chance the Rapper Removes R. Kelly Collaboration from Streaming
The R&B singer, R. Kelly is having a real tough time. And thanks to the Lifetime docuseries Surviving R. Kelly which brought forward all the assault victims of Kelly. A lot many other musicians have been opening up about their regret of collaborating with Kelly previously. But John Legend remains the only celebrity to accept the offer of actually being on the docuseries. Now, Chance the Rapper has also expressed his regret at his R. Kelly collaboration back from 2015. And has even attempted to remove their song from all streaming services including Spotify, Apple Music and Tidal. But that’s not it- Chance also appeared in the last episode of the Lifetime series admitting what a mistake this song was. Well, let’s admit that any work done with Kelly should be considered a mistake. But the good news is that he is already under investigation for all the assault charges!
Chance the Rapper Takes Action Against R. Kelly Collaboration After Assault Claims Surface
Chance the Rapper remains one of the popular musicians who collaborated with R. Kelly back in 2015. The duo recorded Somewhere in Paradise together. But now Chance has removed it from major streaming services including Spotify, Apple Music and Tidal. However, this publication is still available on YouTube and the rapper’s personal Soundcloud page. Moreover, the rapper also appeared on Surviving R. Kelly and admitted in his interview that this collaboration was a mistake.
However, Chance is not the first artist to apology for working with R. Kelly. A few days back, Lady Gaga also released a statement extending support and solidarity to all assault victims. She apologized and expressed her regret on working with Kelly in the past. And also retracted their songs together from iTunes and other streaming platforms. The French band Phoenix has also apologized for working with Kelly saying that they were not informed of his actions earlier.
Chance the Rapper is among other popular celebrities condemning R. Kelly for his assault allegations. And now let’s just hope that justice will be served soon!
