Megyn Kelly Officially Bids Goodbye To NBC Show Taking Hot Cash In Millions
Megyn Kelly officially bids goodbye to NBC Show ‘Today’. Yet She will receive $30 million as the remaining 3-years contract money. Both NBC and Kelly reached an agreement this Friday night, leading to her exit from the network.
Megyn Kelly became the host of NBC’S Today’s Show on September 25th, 2017.
Megyn Kelly’s Racist Suggestion
NBC News chairman Andy Lack reportedly condemned her racist remarks of allowing black faces on white people at Halloween. The company-wide meeting took great notice of the comments. As a result, Today’s host is initially drawn off the air and ultimately her show hour was cancelled. As negotiations were on the way for two long months, finally both parties reached a decision.
According to valid resources, none of them has revealed the terms. Kelly, however, was serving her second year of hosting at NBC, out of the three-year contract. She has already earned more than $20 million a year from a total of $69 million. Moreover, she would soon receive the remaining amount of her contract as a lion’s share.
NBC Reportedly Announced Kelly’s Exit From The Show
NBC has released the following statement Friday night. “The parties have resolved their differences, and Megyn Kelly is no longer an employee of NBC,”
She’s been highly criticized for her Halloween comments on the NBC show. The scandal caught wildfire and as a consequence, she was not hosting the show since October. Basically, the former Fox Channel anchor suggests that it was OK for white people to wear blackface on Halloween. This approach was simply a racist attack and Megyn has to promptly leave the show for her comments.
Megyn Kelly Apologized For Her Comments
Although Kelly apologized to viewers following her blackface comments, yet NBC officials are not convinced to bring her back.
Megyn Kelly commented recently, “What is racist? Truly, you do get in trouble if you are a white person who puts on blackface on Halloween or a black person who puts on whiteface for Halloween. Back when I was a kid, that was OK, as long as you were dressing up as a character.”
NBC Officials, Not Pleased With Kelly’s Performance
Even before the Halloween controversial statement, Kelly’s future on NBC was not very promising. In fact, during her tenure at NBC, the former Fox News anchor continuously creates shambles in the atmosphere. Moreover, Kelly’s show has become irksome for everyone including the guests like Debra Messing and Jane Fonda. The show rating has been vigorously dropped — and NBC execs were fed -up with the host’s misconducts. So, NBC was looking for her replacement long before her October Halloween comments.
Megan Kelly’s Previous Scandals
The ‘Kelly File’ Host, was a prominent atrocious figure in the past as well. Her Donald Trump catechism during the presidential campaign trail kept her in rumors. Moreover, Kelly is also famous for her sexual harassment charges on Fox channel’s former chief executive, Roger Ailes(late).
Apparently, Kelly’s case does not fall in a “non-compete” clause, which allows her to join another working destination(TV Channels). However, it seems that right now Kelly has no one to lean upon.
