Jake Gyllenhaal Deals With Haunted Art in ‘Velvet Buzzsaw’ Trailer
Together with the Nightcrawler director Dan Gilroy, Jake Gyllenhaal is ready to make a return to your screens. And that too paired up with a brilliantly talented cast which includes Rene Russo, John Malkovich, Toni Collette, Natalia Dyer, Daveed Diggs, Tom Sturridge, and Zawe Ashton. Directed and written by Gilroy, Velvet Buzzsaw will take you to the world of art. The plot centers on a set of eerie paintings which were found in the apartment of a deceased man. But the artwork which seems haunted, and is ready to kill everybody is now in someone else’s hands. But will Gyllenhaal make his way through this one?
The trailer for this Netflix horror movie is out. And needless to say, you can’t watch it alone. As Gyllenhaal who plays the art critic passing judgments on every painting he sees wanders around art galleries, Ashton finds an eerie art in the house of her deceased neighbor. And she does not want to let this opportunity of making good money go by. But as art is introduced to the world, people start experiencing darkness in life. All the people around it are slowly winding up to death. But what will be the fate of Jake Gyllenhaal?
Gilroy claims that the inspiration for Velvet Buzzsaw came when he himself was walking through an arty gallery. And noticed how artists invest their souls in their work. But when he realized that art and commerce crossing paths could buzz things up, the idea for this Netflix movie was generated.
Velvet Buzz comes out on February 1st, but the trailer will keep you going till then!
