Dan Crenshaw Talked to Pete Davidson After Suicide Concerns
A few months ago, Pete Davidson made a harsh joke about a Republic candidate who was running for the US midterms. The republic candidate was a war veteran Dan Crenshaw and Davidson made the mistake of making fun of his war wound. Though, Crenshaw had quite a mature response to it all and he didn’t attack Davidson back. That led to the candidate appearing on SNL and receiving a public apology from Davidson himself. The duo seemed to reconcile and come on good terms. Now, recently Pete Davidson made headlines after posting a suicidal post on Instagram after he received backlash from defending Kanye West on his twitter frenzy. Dan Crenshaw, now elected US Representative for Texas’ 2nd congressional district, says that he talked to Davidson.
Crenshaw had a Good Conversation with Davidson
On Houston Newsmakers, Crenshaw talked about how he reached out to Pete Davidson over the weekend. He added in saying that the two don’t go way back but Davidson still appreciated the gesture and listened to what Crenshaw had to say. He had the following heartfelt message to say to the SNL star:
“Everyone has a purpose in this world; God put you here for a reason, but it is your job to find that purpose. You should live that way, you should live that way seeking out that purpose, not expecting it to be given to you by anybody else. Know that you have value and do more good for people than you realize for people.”
Crenshaw showed Davidson how important his job was in the world. To make people laugh in this sad and often dark world is a noble task in and of itself. Hopefully, gestures like these will help the comedian get better.
