CBS To Air An I Love Lucy Christmas Special Episode

Just when you thought that Christmas could not get any better, here comes yet another holiday surprise. CBS is rolling out a full colour vision of the all time. classic sitcom I Love Lucy’s Christmas special. Yes you heard it right. The pioneering show that laid the touchstone for comedies to build upon is returning to digital screens after half a century.

The Christmas Special Episode Of I Love Lucy On CBS

The live and colored version of I Love Lucy will air on CBS and CBS all access Friday, 14th December at 8/7 c.

“The Christmas Episode” aired for the first time on the Christmas eve of 1956. “The Christmas Episode” is the first half of the “Lucy” yuletide-special hour. It features clips from previous tales illustrating how different life became for Lucy and Ricky (Lucille Ball, Desi Arnaz) after son Little Ricky (Keith Thibodeaux, also known as Richard Keith) was born. Neighbors and friends Fred and Ethel Mertz (William Frawley, Vivian Vance) also join the episode, helping the Ricardos decorate their Christmas tree. In the Christmas special, the cast discusses tales of the bygone days, albeit in good humor.

Pioneer Women In I Love Lucy

In the I Love Lucy Christmas special, includes the “Pioneer Women” episode. In the episode the ladies engaged in a bet where the challenge each other to live without modern conveniences. A byproduct of the challenge results in the manufacture of the longest loaf of bread ever seen on the home screen.

The episode is intact from its original stream, but camera refinement has filled in life into the episode with colors though The episode was initially produced in — and broadcast in — black-and-white.

The Dick Van Dyke Show Will Also Air A Christmas Special

Apart from the I Love Lucy Christmas special episode, CBS will also broadcast the “The Dick Van Dyke Show”. It will follow from Lucy’s special. The selected episode will reminisce the memories of Rock and Laura Petrie. CBS will stream colored versions of its 1961 episode “Where Did I Come From” and 1965 episode “Never Bathe On Saturday”.

For enthusiasts of current favorite there is ample content available to stream on CBS this Thursday too. “NCIS” offers the episode “What Child Is This?” at 8 p.m. Tuesday on CBS. The plot revolves around discovery of a new born baby without any identification.
