It has been recently announced that Sandra Oh and Andy Samberg are the official hosts of the Golden Globes 2019 Award show.
It’s not been long that we were talking about the disdainful snubs of Golden Globe nominations. Yet something cool emerged on the surface now. The two promising hosts of the upcoming Golden Globe awards are none other than US Comedian Andy Samberg and Canadian Sandra Oh .
The announcement arrived Wednesday, the day before the nominations were announced for 2019 Golden Globes.
The Killing Eve beauty, Sandra oh will host the 76th annual Golden Globes, along with Andy Samberg on Jan. 6 in Los Angeles.
Fans are eagerly waiting to watch these Golden Globe Award recipients. Everybody is excited to catch the unrevealed chemistry of these new hosts and what these emcees will bring to the Golden Globes stage.
The Golden Globe Awards 2019 And Their Hosts
On January 6, the Beverly Hills Hilton will cheerfully welcome the pair as the Golden Globe show anchors. The duo recently presented a prize at the Emmy awards. In fact, both celebrities are hosting any show together for the first time.
To acknowledge their hosting talents, Paul Telegdy and George Cheeks, co-chairmen of NBC Entertainment, release a statement.
“Sandra and Andy are the perfect choices to host this world-class event, They bring wit, charm and style to a room filled with the very best of film and television. It’s sure to be another unforgettable fun-filled night.”
As a matter of fact, it is pretty unusual for the award show to employ two hosts at the ceremony. Moreover, Canadian Oh and American Samberg were never a professional comedy couple. This is perhaps the second time a pair will host the show after a three year gap by Amy Poehler and Tina Fey. Seth Meyers hosted the last year’s award show.

To a surprise, the co-host, Sandra Oh is also a nominee for best actress in a limited series in the upcoming Awards. Golden Globes nominates her for BBC America show Killing Eve. Her competitors include Elisabeth Moss for The Handmaid’s Tale, Caitriona Balfe for Outlander, Julia Roberts for Homecoming, and Keri Russell for The Americans.
Previously, Sandra won a Golden Globe in 2006 for her role as Dr. Cristina Yang Grey’s Anatomy. The series is still airing on the channel
On the other hand, Samberg won two Golden Globes for Brooklyn Nine-Nine. Not to mention the comedy pro has hosted 2015 Emmy awards and received positive responses.
According to Entertainment, the 2019 show will showcase a new award. The statue is 11.5 inches tall, 3.75 inches wide and 3.75 inches deep. The brass, bronze and zinc statuette weighs 7.8 lbs.
