So the ‘Swimming with Sharks’ trailer is here! George Huang’s 1994 comedy/drama film “Swimming with Sharks” is getting a contemporary reboot. Kiernan Shipka, widely known for her iconic work in “Chilling Adventures of Sabrina” will be playing alongside Diane Kruger. Tucker Gates directed this movie and Kathleen Robertson is the writer and producer.
Kiernan Shipka is set to play Lou (young assistant) in ‘Swimming with Sharks’
The story of the movie shows, Lou, a young assistant who works for a woman named Joyce. Moreover, the workers in the company have to work in an environment full of schemers and manipulators with little value given to them as humans. Lou is set to work under Joyce, who is CEO but treats her employees unfairly. The trailer opens with lines referencing the original 1994 George Huang film:
“You have no brain. No judgment calls are necessary. What you think means nothing. What you feel means nothing. You are here for me. You are here to protect my interests and to serve my needs.”
These words instantly reflect the environment where Lou will be working. Moreover, the company does not welcome creativity or going even a little against the CEO. Furthermore, the trailer also reflects some murder, mystery, and an insane amount of curiosity among the characters in the movie. Lou seems to be the one who wants to challenge her CEO.
Producer of the show, Kathleen Robertson, talks about ‘Swimming with Sharks’
In an interview with Variety, the producer of the awaited show stated about doing this film:
“When it was brought to me, I just did not really know how to approach this in a way that felt like we needed this in 2022. The movie definitely hit a chord all these years ago, and the only way to use this as something worth telling right now would be to do it from a female perspective. Through the eyes of these two very complex, ambitious, interesting women.”
This movie is a Roku series. So stay tuned for further information! The release month of “Swimming with Sharks” is April. In addition to these two famous actresses, the psychological thriller stars Donald Sutherland, Finn Jones, Ross Butler, and many more.
