ABC Scraps The Middle Spin-off As President Channing Dungey Moves Out
In this holiday season this news sure comes as a bummer. ABC pulled the plug of its long running sitcom The Middle, after its 9th season recently. Upon the conclusion of the show, rumors began circulating that ABC was planning to bring back its cult sitcom with a spin off series Sue in the City. The Middle’s original writers DeAnne Heline and Eileen Heisler were to pen the series following the life of the all-grown-up fan-favorite character Sue Heck. The series was to see Sue as she moves from her small town in Indiana to start a new life in Chicago. However, according to recent reports, ABC has now decided not to go ahead with The Middle Spin-off.

ABC had ordered a pilot series for August and alongside Eden Sherfellow Middle alum Brock Ciarlelli as well as Kimberley Crossman, Finesse Mitchell and Aaron Branch where to also star on the show.
