Nick Jonas Next on Demi Lovato Unfollow List on Instagram After Selena Gomez
Demi Lovato unfollows Nick Jonas on Instagram like she did Selena Gomez and we can guess why?
Demi Lovato faced tough times this year. She overdosed in July. After receiving proper care, she checked into rehab. Demi has a past with drugs. This was not her first rodeo at the rehab. Reportedly, the 26 years old singer is taking her recovery very seriously. She has been associated with designer Henry Levy. Henry is a friend from rehab. He is helping her maintain her sobriety. With new friends in the making, Demi might be getting rid of old ones including Selena Gomez and Nick Jonas. A simple unfollow on Instagram comes as a surprise from Demi.
Demi Lovato Unfollows Nick Jonas on Instagram
The news came as a shock. Demi Lovato unfollowed Nick Jonas on Instagram. It is surprising because Nick and Demi had been very close during their The Future Now Tour. Both the stars co-headlined the concert tour. It is Demi’s fifth headlining tour, and Nick’s third concert tour. Demi was promoting her fifth studio album Confident, while Nick promoted his third studio album Last Year Was Complicated. So imagine our surprise that Nick got the unfollow treatment from his former tour buddy.
Selena Gomez Also Unfollowed
While many fans are thinking just what might have happened to make Demi unfollow Nick? Know that she also unfollowed Selena Gomez. A few weeks back, she unfollowed her best friend and fellow cast member. Reportedly, Selena had unfollowed Demi way back in January. However, they communicated with each other. Alliance was reached but it did not stay for long.
Her former friend Iggy Azalea also got the ax on Instagram. Demi was once meant to be the maid of honor at Iggy’s once wedding. It was a testament to how close the artists were. Such was not the case for long. Iggy was unfollowed by Demi. However, in all fairness, Iggy unfollowed Demi Lovato before that.
What Might be the Reason?
So, what all this business begs for is a reason. Why is Demi unfollowing all the people she once called friends? Sources close to her say that she is taking her sobriety very seriously. In order to do that, she’s eliminating all negative things from her life. One of her major moves was firing her backstage performer, Dani Vitali. She explained on a Twitter comment to a fan complaining of her team,
She quickly followed that comment with another,
True friends don’t do interviews about you when you OD.
While many thought that this was to explain that she had not made her earlier comments for Dani. As time passes though, we think it was in general. And yes! Not only about Dani Vitali.
How Demi Lovato’s Friends Broke the Confidence
While they might have been doing something nice, the three friends of Demi did what she finds not cool. They all spoke out about her drug overdose incident. Nick took to Twitter to write about his ex-tour mate,
Like all of you I am reeling at the news about Demi. All of us love her and need to pray for her to get well. She is a fighter. #prayfordemi

While Selena did not address the incident on social media, she spoke out in an Elle interview,
“All I’m saying is, I reached out personally. I didn’t do a public thing. I didn’t want to. I…I love her. I’ve known her since I was seven. So…it’s…that’s what I’ll say.”
The same was the case with Iggy. She spoke out about Demi’s overdose with ET;
“I had known about it, as a close friend. So I had really wanted for her to be the one to tell people that. And I worried a lot, as her friend, that something was going to leak or somebody would somehow take that and use it negatively against her, or to make her seem like she’s got a secret.”
Demi made it very clear that she wasn’t appreciative of people talking about her overdose. This might be her way of putting the foot down.
