The Lord Of The Rings TV show is finally coming to Amazon Prime. The title of the TV series is called ‘The Lord Of The Rings The Rings of Power’. The events will be taking place before the movies’ events. The show will be focusing on the mind-controlling rings that transformed the Nine Kings of Men into Ringwraiths or the Nazgûl.

There was also a teaser along with the title reveal:

The video actually has much less CGI than you’d expect. The teaser shows the making of the famous rings. There is also an ominous female voice-over saying a quote from JRR Tolkien’s books:

“Three Rings for the Elven-kings under the sky, Seven for the Dwarf-lords in their halls of stone, Nine for Mortal Men doomed to die, One for the Dark Lord on his dark throne, In the Land of Mordor where the Shadows lie.”

The creators of the show, JD Payne and Patrick McKay, shared what we can expect from the highly anticipated TV show:

“This is a title that we imagine could live on the spine of a book next to JRR Tolkien’s other classics. The Rings of Power unites all the major stories of Middle-earth’s Second Age. The forging of the rings. The rise of the Dark Lord Sauron, the epic tale of Númenor, and the Last Alliance of Elves and Men. Until now, audiences have only seen on-screen the story of the One Ring – but before there was one, there were many… and we’re excited to share the epic story of them all.”

This is certainly very exciting for fans of Lord of The Rings. We’ll get to know the full story of how all the rings were forged.

It’s going to be a prequel that will help solve a lot of fans’ burning questions. The ‘Lord of the Rings’ movies were released almost two decades ago. The first movie ‘The Fellowship of the Ring’ came out in 2001. It starred Elijah Wood, Ian McKellen, Cate Blanchett, Viggo Mortensen. Furthermore, we saw Billy Boyd, Sean Astin, Hugo Weaving, Andy Serkis, Ian Holm, Sean Bean, John Rhys-Davies, Live Tyler, Dominic Monaghan, Christopher Lee and Orlando Bloom. It became one of the biggest movie franchises with a massive fan following. The last movie came out in 2003.

There have been other movies from the JRR Tolkien universe too. In 2012, Martin Freeman took on the role of a young Bilbo Baggins in ‘The Hobbit: An unexpected Journey’. In 2013, there was ‘The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug’ and in 2014, ‘The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies’. Now, in 2022, we are seeing the return of the JRR Tolkien universe with ‘The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power’.

The TV show has pretty high expectations as it’s already being considered the most expensive TV show to produce.

The first season is costing around $465 million to make! The cast includes talented new faces Sara Zwangobani, Trystan Gravelle, Sir Lenny Henry, Dylan Smith, Lloyd Owen, Daniel Weyman. Moreover, there is Markella Kavenagh, Morfydd Clark, Charles Edwards, Ismael Cruz Córdova. And we’ll see Cynthia Addai-Robinson, Charlie Vickers, Nazanin Boniadi, Robert Aramayo, Ema Horvath, Owain Arthus, Maxim Baldry, Josepph Mawle, Sophia Nomvetem, Tyroe Muhafidin, Benjamin Walker, Sara Zwangobani and Leon Wadham.

We can’t wait to see the new series. Are you as excited as us?
