Maddie Ziegler and Jenna Ortega Star In New Movie ‘The Fallout’

Although Megan Park’s directorial debut, The Fallout, will release on 27th Jan, it is already making a lot of noise. While the film is a work of fiction, it is inspired by real-life shooting events. As you all know school shootings are common in the USA, the film revolves around the students who are dealing with the trauma of the incident. Along with Shailene Woodley, the cast includes Maddie Ziegler and Jenna Ortega.

Few days back, the trailer of The Fallout came out and gave us a glimpse of what is coming.

Although The Fallout is a fictional story, it is inspired by true events. Last year, the world saw horrible shooting incidents in Atlanta and Boulder. These are among countless shooting incidents which have taken place in schools and taken innocent lives. Therefore, Megan Park’s directorial debut, The Fallout is an important film. The cast includes Shailene Woodley, Jenna Ortega, Maddie Ziegler, Julie Bowen, John Ortiz, and Niles Fitch. According to the trailer, the story revolves around Vida and Mia, who bond after surviving the shooting incident at their school. Together, the two girls try to overcome the trauma they faced.

Interestingly, Megan Park and Shailene Woodley have worked together in The Secret Life of an American Teenager.

After the news of The Fallout came out, people couldn’t help but notice that Megan Park is a well-known actress. Along with Shailene Woodley, she was one of the cast members on The Secret Life of an American teenager. In the show, she played Grace Bowman. Similarly, Woodley congratulated her former co-star in an Instagram post. She wrote:

“My OG girl @megan_park has slayed my heart over and over again since our secret life of the american teenager days with her creativity + ability to see through the masks we all wear in order to absorb the full human experience. But, she has taken that slay to a whole new level with The Fallout. … the ENTIRE cast give this film such a moving and entrancing truth with their work.”

Furthermore, she wrote:

“It’s no secret to any of us the effects irresponsible gun use + violence has on our society … especially on young people trying to live their best lives in public schools. megan has written + directed a movie that will touch your SOUL and have you thinking about it for days, months, years later.”

In response to her friend’s post, The Fallout director reacted and replied back.

After the heartfelt post by Woodley, the director, and writer of The Fallout, Megan Park responded back. In the comment section, Park thanked her former co-star and friend and wrote:

“I am so grateful for you. Thank you for coming to play and being so supportive and inspiring. I love you. Since I met you in those keds at 15, from kitchen Karaoke to holding hands and sobbing through several Broadway shows… can’t wait to keep being inspired and creating together forever. Ily ily ily.”

The Fallout will start streaming on HBO Max on the 27th of January.
