Dr. Strange In The Multiverse Of Madness: Marvel Gives Us Its First Official Teaser!

Ever since his debut in 2016, Benedict Cumberbatch has appeared as Doctor Strange in Avengers: Infinity WarAvengers: Endgame, Thor: Ragnarok, and Spider-Man: No Way Home. Now, he’ll be reprising this role in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. Directed by Sam Raimi, the movie will hit the theatres on May 6th, 2022.

Now with the first official teaser, we now get a clue as to what can we expect to see from this much awaited sequel. In it, we see that Multiverse of Madness will deal with the fallout from the spells Doctor Strange cast in Spider-Man: No Way Home. His spells that tampered with space and time had a damning effect on the multiverse. And he cannot deal with it alone, as the teaser shows us Elizabeth Olsen’s Scarlet Witch. Moreover, we also get a glimpse of Mordo, who left Strange at the end of the first film. And the teaser has also confirmed the appearance of Evil Strange aka Strange Supreme, whom we saw in Marvel’s What If…? animated series.

Who will be the main villain of Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness?

That said, the trailer doesn’t specify who the main villain will be in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. It can be either of Mordo or Evil Strange, as Mordo told him “the greatest threat to our universe is you“. Immediately after, the scene cut to Evil Strange, indicating that he might be the threat. Or, Mordo could be indicating that all versions of Doctor Strange are the real threat to the universe. Moreover, it’s also possible that both Mordo and Evil Strange are the villains of Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. In the trailer, we see a brief glimpse of Mordo fighting Doctor Strange. Mordo’s quest to find rogue sorcerers and stealing their abilities could make him a greater threat to Doctor Strange.

We will have to wait to hear the answers to these questions on May 6th, 2022. Until then, we’ll have to wait for more footage from Marvel as they release further trailers.
