According to Ezra Blount’s family, he wanted to see his favorite artist in Astroworld. Therefore, his father took him to the concert of Travis Scott. After the stampede broke out, Blount suffered from severe injuries to his head. This led to him going into a medically induced coma. After eight days, Ezra Blount passed away. In a statement issued by the family’s attorney, it said:

“The Blount family tonight is grieving the incomprehensible loss of their precious young son. This should not have been the outcome of taking their son to a concert, what should have been a joyful celebration. Ezra’s death is absolutely heartbreaking. We are committed to seeking answers and justice for the Blount family. But tonight we stand in solidarity with the family, in grief, and in prayer.”

After Travis Scott offered to pay for his funeral, Blount’s family rejected it

When Travis Scott found out about Blount’s death, he offered to pay the cost of his funeral. At the same time, he wanted to pay for all the deceased people’s funeral services. According to a statement issued by his attorney:

“Travis remains in active conversations with the city of Houston, law enforcement and local first responders to respectfully and appropriately connect with the individuals and families of those involved. These are the first of many steps Travis plans on taking as a part of his personal vow to assist those affected throughout their grieving and recovery process.”

However, Blount’s family have rejected Travis Scott’s offer. Their attorney said:

“The loss of a child is like a faucet of unimaginable pain that has no off handle. Your client’s offer is declined.”

At the moment, the lawsuits are piling up against Scott, Apple Music, and the organizers.
