The ‘Red’ queen is here to take her spot at the throne! Over the course of two years, Taylor Swift released two brand new albums, ‘folklore’ and ‘evermore’. Moreover, she released re-recorded albums of her past that she was not able to buy back due to a dispute with Big Machine Records’ Scooter Braun who sold it to Shamrock Holdings. The albums she did not own were before her ‘Lover’ Album. As of now, she’s re-recorded and released ‘Fearless (Taylor’s Version’ and ‘Red (Taylor’s Version)’. Her latest album ‘Red (Taylor’s Version)’ is gaining a lot of success on multiple music streaming platforms! Swift is here to celebrate that as well as a Grammy nomination for her 2020 album ‘evermore’.
Taylor Swift was over the moon for the success of her 10 minute song ‘All Too Well’ from ‘Red (Taylor’s Version)’
The original song from ‘Red’ was known as ‘All Too Well’. It was a decade ago and after her intense romance ended with actor Jake Gyllenhaal. In fact, most of the songs of ‘Red’ were about him. But this album has been a special one for Taylor Swift and her fans dubbed the ‘Swifties’. Over the years, her fans have connected so well with Red’s songs that for the popstar the album’s meaning has beautifully changed.
The re-released album contained 30 of the original songs and it featured artists like Phoebe Bridgers, Chris Stapleton and Ed Sheeran. Not only that but Taylor Swift gave her fans what they were waiting for: the original ten-minute version of ‘All Too Well’. The song had no music video and was only five minutes long originally. It was Taylor’s most emotional song when she performed it on the concerts. But now having years passed, Taylor has found the song to be a way for her to have a bond with her fans. Taylor Swift has revealed that she found it amazing it was both her favorite and a fan-favorite.
So, she did what her fans wanted. A ten-minute version of the song and a short film starring Sadie Sink and Dylan O’Brien, directed by Swift herself.
The singer also did a live performance of the song on Saturday Night Live (SNL). All her videos garnered millions of views and got many likes. Rolling Stone also gave her re-released ‘Red’ album a 5-star rating review. And now, the song ‘All Too Well’ makes history by being the longest song to ever hit the No. 1 Spot at the Billboard 100!
Billboard’s official Twitter account tweeted out:
[email protected]’s “All Too Well (Taylor’s Version)” is officially the longest No. 1 hit of all time, at 10 minutes, 13 seconds. Don McLean’s “American Pie (Parts I & II),” at 8 minutes, 37 seconds, held the mark for nearly a half-century, beginning in January 1972.
Taylor Swift reshared the tweet and was so joyful for the news. The singer shared her gratitude to her fans and the team that worked with her on the song:
THANK YOU to the team that made All Too Well (the 10 min): The ultimate craftsman of songs that sound epic @jackantonoff, bad ass @Sharp_Stick, @rowedizzle and @lizrose06! Love you all.
Her fans are proud of her for this song as well. And just as she was celebrating the success of this news, another great thing happened!
Evermore got a Grammy Nomination for this year’s awards!
Taylor Swift shared the joyful news of the Grammy nomination on social media by sharing a video of her singing ‘champagne problems’ with musician and producer Aaron Dessner.
The ‘evermore’ album was a success as well as it got much praise from critics and got the No.1 Spot at the Billboard 200! It also sold almost 200 thousand US copies and gained much popularity.
Her fans were beyond happy for her Grammy nomination and her songs doing great on the charts. There’s no stopping Taylor Swift it seems, and who would want to?
She’s a musical genius that is so rare to find.
‘Evermore’ also won the ‘Favorite Pop Album’ American Music Award recently and Taylor Swift took the moment to thank her fans:
“Thank you so much to the fans, this is such an amazing honor. The fact that you would do this for evermore, I’ve always been so proud of this album. I’ve always looked at evermore as sort of Folklore‘s adventurous, fun younger sister. So, thank you so much for doing this.”
Last year, she won ‘Album of the year’ for ‘Folklore’! So, chances are she’ll win this too but let’s see!
