Spider-Man: No Way Home 2nd Trailer Out: Tobey Maguire & Andrew Garfield Hopes Escalate!

So, the Spider-Man: No Way Home 2nd trailer further explored the revelations from the first trailer. In it, we got to see more of Doctor Otto Octavius (Doctor Octopus, played by Alfred Molina). He actually had a funny interaction with Tom Holland’s Peter Parker, Zendaya‘s Mary Jane, and Jacob Batalon’s Ned after the disgraced scientist told them his name. But, the really interesting scene was when he unmasked Holland’s mask and said “You’re not Peter”. This shows a clear acknowledgment of Tobey Maguire, escalating hopes considerably that he will make an appearance.

Furthermore, we also got a first brief look at Jamie Foxx as Electro, and he looks absolutely incredible in this 2nd trailer of Spider-Man: No Way Home. Furthermore, one of the villains from the Andrew Garfield trilogy also made it into the movie. And he is none other than The Lizard. It’s as if the movie is screaming that past Spider-Men are in this movie, but can’t reveal it just yet.

Lastly, Holland seemed quite hopeless at the end of the 2nd trailer, telling MJ “I can’t save everyone”. Constantly, we saw Dr. Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch) telling him he has to deal with this “crap,” telling him they all die fighting Spider-Man and that it’s their fate. He’s struggling to find another way. But, there were no actual signs of Garfield and Maguire as of yet. It seems like fans will get their first reveal in the theatres on December 17th.

That said, the fans’ reaction to the 2nd trailer of Spider-Man 3 on Twitter has largely been optimistic, but with a hint of fear. That said, some were quite clever in looking at some past blunders by the actors involved in the movie. For them, it’s obviously clear that Maguire and Garfield will feature in Spider-Man: No Way Home.

That said, some are still prepared to be disappointed in the theatres if it never happens. They have two separate folders for Spider-Man: No Way Home memes, in case Tobey Maguire & Andrew Garfield show up or they don’t.

Despite these strong rumors, the official word from everyone involved in the movie has been that it’s not happening. Garfield has said multiple times that these are just rumors with no factual basis. Moreover, rumors of Kirsten Dunst making an appearance in the movie were also circulating. But, she again denied them, despite admitting that it would be cool. So far, the trailers are all we have.
