After the Astroworld incident, the news of Live Nation and Travis Scott being sued have come out. According to reports, many concertgoers have filed lawsuits against the performer and the organizers. Almost eight people were killed and more than 300 are recovering from injuries. Along with the the listeners, people are also blaming Drake for enticing the crowd. He was the guest performer alongside Scott.
After the tragic incident, people accused Scott of continuing his performance.
Since few days, a video is doing rounds on social media which has made everyone angry. In the video, Travis Scott is singing and hyping the crowd. However, he can clearly see an unconscious person being taken to an ambulance. Since then the news of Travis Scott sued have been circulating. At the same time, he is receiving extreme criticism and backlash. Many have labelled him evil and accused him of worshiping Satan. On the other hand, people claim that he encouraged people to start the riot.
Travis Scott sued by a concertgoer in 2017.
In 2017, Kyle Green, a 27 year old attended Travis Scott’s concert. The venue was super crowded. And people started pushing each other. And somehow Green was forced over a railing. He broke several bones (including his vertebrae). Since then, he has been paralyzed and sued the singer. However, he plead guilty to the disorderly conduct. According to Green’s lawyer:
“Scott’s desire to rile up the crowd beyond hysterics, where people are pushing and shoving, has resulted in a massive catastrophe. It’s time for him to do some significant self-reflection.”
Since Friday, Live Nation and Travis Scott sued by multiple injured people.
At the Astroworld Festival, at least 50,000 were in attendance. Many people hopped the fences to get into the sold out event for free. Among the injured was Manuel Souza, who is the first victim to file the lawsuit. Travis Scott also has to pay one million dolars. However, he is not the only one bearing the brunt. The organizers- Live Nation and ScoreMore are also facing the lawsuit. According to the petition filed:
“Tragically, due to Defendant’s motivation for profit at the expense of concertgoers’ health and safety, and due to their encouragement of violence, at least eight people lost their lives and scores of others were injured at what was supposed to be a night of fun. Plaintiff’s injuries were the inevitable and predictable result of Defendants’ conscious disregard of the extreme risks of harm to concertgoers that had been escalating since hours earlier.”
Despite Travis Scott sued, he is fully cooperating with the authorities to find the reason behind the tragic incident. So far, he has not made any statements about the lawsuit.
