Enola Holmes 2 confirmed by Netflix, and we have a first look
Netflix has confirmed that Enola Holmes will be returning to the streaming site soon in a sequel! And Millie Bobby Brown will be returning to reprise her role along with Henry Cavill as Sherlock Holmes in Enola Holmes 2. Netflix announced the movie at their TUDUM festival event, along with a few surprises.
Enola Holmes was a monumental success on Netflix, as it gathered around 76 million households on th family sofa, making it the seventh most-watched English language film on the streaming service. And it achieved all that in just the first 28 days. And since then, leaks started emerging of Netflix thinking about making Enola Holmes too. Even the lead actor herself Brown explained her desire for a sequel, saying:
Let’s see how people respond to the first one. Let’s see if they fall in love with Enola as much as I have fallen in love, but there’s definitely much more of a story to be told.
And now, Netflix has finally granted her wish as they finally released a trailer for Enola Holmes 2. And alongside this trailer, we also got a list of a new ensemble cast that will feature in the movie.
Apart from Cavill and Brown, Enola Holmes will feature some very recognizable names, especially Helena Bonham Carter. She will feature in Enola Holmes 2 as Eudoria Holmes, the mother of Enola and Sherlock Holmes. But, fans were extra jovial upon hearing that Louis Partridge will be back in the sequel as Tewkesbury. Tewkesbury was Enola Holmes’s infamous potential love interest and partner in crime, along with being a fan favorite.
What will Enola Holmes 2 be about?
The first movie was an adaptation of the Nancy Springer novel The Enola Holmes Mysteries: The Case of the Missing Marquess. Enola Holmes 2, many fans anticipate, will be based on the second book, The Case of the Left-Handed Lady. But, it is very much possible that the movie could combine multiple books from the six-book series. And Millie Bobby Brown is hyped for the sequels, as she said in a past interview:
The story isn’t over yet. She isn’t grown up, there’s no conclusion. I think she’ll forever be someone who is always evolving, but there’s definitely more to be shown on screen. Harry and I loved working together, so this has to happen.
Apart from these cast members, the sequel will retain a lot of the behind-the-scenes staff from Enola Holmes. That includes writer Jack Thorne and director Harry Bradbeer. The production of Enola Holmes 2 will begin this autumn, however, we do not have an Enola Holmes 2 release date right now.
